From humble beginnings as a one-person firm, we’ve grown into a team of six dedicated professionals and growing in the refugee and asylum seeker support sector. Our journey, as former asylum seekers and refugees in Australia, fuels our advocacy for refugee rights, ensuring empathetic support and effective representation throughout the immigration process.

Meet Our team

Assadullah Khurrami

Managing Director

With over 15 years of professional experience across migration and refugee, protection, skilled migration, and complex migration applications. He has held senior leadership and management roles within national and international organisations and is recognised for ethical practice, governance, and community-focused service delivery. Assadullah is also a Justice of the Peace (JP) and a National Refugee Ambassador in Australia.

Rasheed Qasimi

Senior Registered Migration Agent

With over a decade of experience in the Australian migration industry. He started his practice in 2015 and has since provided expert advice and strategic assistance to thousands of individuals and families, successfully guiding them through complex migration pathways to Australia. With extensive professional experience and a deep understanding of migration law and policy, Rasheed is known for his thorough, solutions-focused approach, no case is beyond is reach.

Josephine Maqdissi

Client Services Manager

With strong experience across family reunification, citizenship, Administrative Review Tribunal appeals, and onshore and offshore protection and humanitarian visa applications. She holds a law degree and brings extensive expertise in migration law, supporting complex and high-risk matters across Perth and Australia. Combining legal insight with lived refugee experience, and fluent in Arabic and English, Josephine delivers culturally informed, client-centred leadership and clear guidance throughout the migration journey.

Shabbir Hussain

Migration Office Manager

Specialising in skilled migration, student visas, humanitarian and protection visa applications, as well as partner, child, orphan, and citizenship pathways. He holds a bachelor’s degree in public administration and a Diploma of Business (Australia), with strong experience in case coordination, client service, and managing complex migration matters. Shabbir is recognised for his attention to detail, clear communication, and culturally informed, client-centred approach, supporting individuals and families to achieve positive migration outcomes.

Yahya Rezai

Intake and Visa Officer

Bringing over five years of experience in social work and community services. He is strongly committed to supporting migrants and refugees through complex visa processes, with a particular focus on family reunification in Australia. Yahya adopts a client-centred, compassionate, and detail-driven approach, ensuring each matter is managed with professionalism, care, and precision.

Mia Fleckhammer

Migration Agent Assistant

Supporting clients with family reunification and immigration applications, including humanitarian and child visa matters. She is currently studying Law at the University of Western Australia, bringing strong research, analytical, and administrative skills to complex migration cases. Mia is committed to accuracy, ethical practice, and client-focused support, contributing to positive outcomes for individuals and families navigating the migration process.

Sabera Hashimi

Admin & Receptionist

Sabera is the first point of contact at SAL Migration & Community Services, providing professional, client-focused support to individuals and families navigating the Australian migration process. With strengths in administration, client communication, and community engagement, she ensures smooth daily operations and a welcoming, supportive experience for all clients.
